Heavy duty slurry pump

Series EHM slurry pump is cantilevered heavy duty metal lined slurry pump,It is designed for handing strong abrasive, high density and low density, high head slurries. Clients from home and abroad are speak highly of its excellent performance, series EHM slurry pumps have become the first selection in many kinds of working condition.

Series EHR slurry pump is cantilevered heavy duty rubber lined slurry pump, which structure is similar to series EHM pump. But the main difference is the wet parts of series EHR is nature rubber, Chloroprene rubber adhesive and other wear resistant rubber. EHR has better performance in delivering strong abrasive slurry with small particle size than EHM. But we need to pay more attention that EHR can’t be used to transport the slurry with sharp edge.
Features:
1. Frame Plate and Cover Plate:  The outer casing is made of grey cast iron or ductile cast iron according to the work pressure, with split structure and blots connected, which ensuring security and easy replacement of the wet parts.
2. Wet Parts: Wet parts are the wear parts of pump. The material of wet parts in the pump is high chrome alloy and in good thickness, which make sure the longer lifetime in the same working condition.
3.Shaft Seal: The shaft seal of this kind of slurry pump could use the packing seal, expeller seal and mechanical seal. Expeller seal is standard seal type.
4.Bearing assembly of this kind of slurry pump use cylindrical structure, adjusting the space between impeller and front liner easily, being removed completely when being repaired. Bearing assembly use grease lubrication.
5.The support and the bearing assembly are designed especially for the slurries transporting. The shaft is of big diameter, good rigidity and short cantilever, which could not bend or vibrate under the server work situation. The bearings could be heavy single or double row tapered roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings according to different power.

Application
Series EHM pumps are of double-casing structure, the cover plate and frame plate with replaceable metal lined wear parts (impeller and liners). The outer casing is made of grey cast iron or ductile cast iron according to the working pressure, with split structure and blots connected. The frame plate is connected with the support by bolts.

Two sets of EHM-8ST are running in one Copper Concentration Plant in South America.

Series EHR pumps have the same structure with Series EHM pumps. The only difference is that the replaceable wear parts are made of natural rubber and synthetic rubber (impeller and liners). The cover plate, the frame plate, bearing assembly and supports are interchangeable with Series EHM slurry pumps. For all series of pump above, the suction side is of horizontal direction and runs by clockwise from drive end.

Crest CEO falls victim to budget cuts

Junior Crest Minerals has undertaken a corporate restructure as part of its cost-cutting measures aimed at reducing overheads by as much as 40%.
The restructure would see CEO Stephen Jones stepping down from December 16.
“Our costs are currently out of kilter with what we can realistically budget for longer-term mineral exploration and we need to cut back our expenses while we re-prioritise the multiple exploration targets so they are in line with our strategic plan,” said Crest chairperson Jonathon Trewartha.
He added that tough cost reduction measures were necessary to conserve cash for Crest’s longer-term aspirations.
“This period of consolidation is difficult after the company’s dynamic start to public life since the listing on the ASX just 16 months ago. In that period, drilling of more than 37 000 m of reverse and air core has occurred, resulting in a discovery of an extensive gold system at Majestic North. This discovery will be developed further in the coming months.”
Trewartha said that Crest remained enthusiastic about proving up a mineable gold resource at Majestic North, and added that the company had recently applied for an additional tenement of some 103 km2 adjoining the discovery area.

As the US fed sits behind closed doors mulling over the highly-anticipated stimulus tapering plan, gold is losing some of its fan base.
The precious metal moved down to $1,309 per ounce by mid-afternoon on Tuesday, halfway in to the two-day meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).
Investors are selling on expectations that the FOMC will announce a slow-down of the $85 billion per month bond purchasing scheme.
But analysts threw out a life-line, speculating that tapering won't be so extreme – a $10 billion reduction per month.
According to one report by Kitco News, bullion may even rise following FOMC's decision on Wednesday because the market is already expecting a taper.
Gary Wagner told Kitco's Daniela Cambone that stimulus reduction is a question of "not so much if but when and how much."
A bond-purchasing slow-down may not have the same pull on gold as it has over the past few months.
"We've actually seen the market begin to factor that in," Wagner said.
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs took a less optimistic tone with gold, noting its "neutral" stance. The investment firm also maintained its view that the precious metal will hit new lows in 2014.

Oil Sands Trade Show 2013

Excellence will attend Oil Sands Trade Show and Conference 2013. Oil sands are a type of unconventional petroleum deposit. The oil sands are loose sand or partially consolidated sandstone containing naturally occurring mixtures of sand, clay, and water, saturated with a dense and extremely viscous form of petroleum technically referred to as bitumen (or colloquially tar due to its similar appearance, odour and colour).

Natural bitumen deposits are reported in many countries, but in particular are found in extremely large quantities in Canada. Most of the oil sands of Canada are located in three major deposits in northern Alberta, where the exhibition is held. With over 500 exhibiting companies, it gathers suppliers and buyers in one place where people could exchange information about oil sand and other mineral resources. Hope to see you there!

Metals X adds to Tasmanian tin resource

Junior Metals X has increased the resource at its Renison tin mine, in Tasmania, by some 31%, following a drilling campaign.
The tin miner noted that the total mineral resource at Renison now stood at 11.57-million tonnes, grading 1.76% tin, for some 204 000 t of contained metal.
“This is a great result and comes on the back of a large ore reserve increase announced in July. It demonstrates Metals X’s commitment to grow its globally significant tin business,” said Metals X CEO Peter Cook.
He noted that the additional resource was important to the company with regard not only to the quantum of increase in the mineral resource, but also in that it represented a major step-change in Metals X’s ability to quantify and evaluate the Renison tin system.
“We are now focused on converting the increase to this substantial mineral resource to ore reserves, and reaping the benefits of the improved schedule flexibility that the additional ore will bring to the mine,” Cook said.
He added that the total mineral resource at Renison was now equivalent to over 16 years of current yearly plant capacity.
Metals X holds a 50% interest in the project, and has been classified as Australia’s only significant tin producer. The Renison project includes a 700 000 t/y tin concentrator plant, and the project had a targeted production rate of between 7 000 t/y and 8 000 t/y.

Zippel Bay Dredging Set for September (USA)

Visitor access to the Zippel Bay State Park harbor on Lake of the Woods will be closed to both landing and launching boats Sept. 9 through Nov. 22 as a two-phase harbor improvement project begins, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
We’re asking visitors, especially boaters, to be patient while we complete the harbor improvement project,” said Doug Easthouse, Zippel Bay State Park manager.
Once completed, we hope visitors will be pleased to find a deeper, extended harbor with additional docks and a sturdy new sea wall.”
Phase I of the project will include dredging the harbor, replacing the sea wall and adding more docks. During construction, access from land and water will be prohibited and the parking lot, boat ramp and harbor will be closed to boats landing or docking.
The beach and campgrounds will remain open throughout construction. Hunting in the park will occur as planned.
The road leading to the harbor and water access will be closed to visitors past Anglers Campground. All other road corridors will remain open.
Boaters accessing Lake of the Woods can use the city of Warroad public access at end of Lake Street or Wheeler’s Point public access at the end of State Highway 172 at the mouth of the Rainy River.
